ECHOES OF AMBITION
What's the essence when dreams come true?
Can a middle-class child reach and pursue?
Success in media, adorned with luxury grand,
Fancy cars, a whimsical spouse, hand in hand.
Afrikan heritage, a tale to unfold,
Success once measured in acres and gold,
Vast lands, a family sprawling wide,
Cattle herds, a source of cultural pride.
Now the canvas is painted in shades of gain,
Capitalistic sails navigating with a capitalist's reign,
Kings and ministers, choosing champagne's delight,
Over water for all, in their oblivious flight.
Our ship sails on, guided by greed's decree,
Cruising towards a perilous, uncertain sea,
In pursuit of treasures, the houses so fine,
Yet, are we bound to this fate, or can we define?
Upward mobility, a chance to soar,
Or does the fruit cling close, forevermore?
Custodians toil, bones weary and worn,
Yet whispers persist, no vacancies born.
In my pocket, a little friend called hope,
A beacon through struggles, a means to cope.
Refining our journey, a collective plea,
For dreams to thrive, and all to be free.
